Work That 8 Inch Stiletto, Girl!!

There's nothing more feminine or tantalizing to a man than a woman in a sexy pair of high heels. From the curve of her breasts to the sway of her low back, everything about a woman in heels is enhanced.

As the fashion industry continues to push the envelope on high heel height, women are finding it increasingly difficult to work the sexiness in stilettos while avoiding the aches and pains from just a few hours of stiletto wear. Fashion designer Christian Louboutin is further challenging women with the announcement of his 8 inch stiletto!! That's right...8 inches! The highest high heel height to hit the fashion industry.

This vertiginous trend of increasing heel height can be traced back to 2004 when Christian Louboutin became the first mainstream designer to break the 5-inch barrier, says Los Angeles-based shoe expert Meghan Cleary (missmeghan.com). Before Louboutin’s artistic feat, “the average heel height used to be 3, 3 ½ inches,” Meghan says. These increasing high heel heights are favorites among Hollywood fashionistas including Posh Beckham, Gwenyth Paltrow and Gwen Stefani.

So how exactly do you look sexy all night in an 8 inch pair of stilettos without killing your feet, knees and low back??

Most important...Practice!!

Unless you aren't embarassed walking like a horse or falling on your face....you must practice standing and walking in these stilettos before going out!! Remember these stilettos are an accessory!!....So you won't be walking too much in these stilettos! You want to get that perfect sexy standing posture down so when you are standing at the bar sipping your martini you are the center of every man's attention.

To work that sexy posture you want to begin by shifting your body weight onto one leg popping your hip out to the side. Remember its the arch of the low back and curve of hips that drive a man crazy....don't forget to pull in the stomach! Not only will this show off a flat stomach but it will prevent low back pain! Next, don't forget the shoulders and chest! A woman slumped over with shoulders rolling forward, whether she is wearing stilettos or not....is NOT sexy!! Keep the head up and neck long. Try to keep the shoulders away from the ears which further elongates the neck and exposes the shoulders.....increasing your sex appeal. Lastly, the final touch to looking sexy in any pair of stilettos is your smile! If you feel confident and think you look great, it will show on your face.....self-confidence is sexy!

So if you dare venture to purchase a pair of 8 inch Christian Louboutin stilettos....make sure you work it, girl!!

Varicose Veins?....Not me!

One of the greatest aspects of having a sexy pair of legs is showing them off! Come summer, I celebrate my femininity by trying to only wear skirts - of course this is difficult when I'm at the hospital but any other time I'm definately sporting the skirts and heels.

If you are a woman who loves to wear skirts but is concerned by the beginnings of varicose veins do not worry! There are things that you can do to prevent the progression of these varicose veins or even prevent their formation altogether.

How? You ask. Follow these simple Rx Sexy steps to combat varicose veins!

1. Do not cross your legs! I know this is easier said than done - especially when wearing a skirt. Don't worry though you can still look sexy in that lil' mini crossing your ankles and angling your legs. Watch how Tyra Banks sits on her TV show....she's always wearing skirts and looks very sexy crossing her legs at the ankle. Tyra Banks is beautiful and doesn't want to worry about varicose veins!

2. Wear compression stockings if you stand looong hours! Yeah yeah I know no one wants to be wearing their "grandmother's" stockings but trust me standing long hours is a major cause of varicose veins! I've spent up to 10 hours standing in the operating room and the pain felt in my legs omg! I started wearing compression stockings whenever I'm in the OR and they make a huuuge difference. My legs are my accessory! When I'm not in my scrubs I'm wearing my skirts so I'll be damned if I get varicose veins....Jobst makes some great compression stockings which are not that expensive. www.jobst.com My lil' sister who is a nurse also swears by compression stockings!

3. Take Horse Chestnut Extract Supplements! Horse chestnut extract demonstrates impressive efficacy in relieving the symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency by effectively reducing leg volume, alleviating leg pain and improving edema. The active ingredient in horse chestnut extract is called escin. Escin works by increasing the tone in the walls of the veins, preventing blood from pooling there. Escin's ability to support healthy blood circulation has made horse chestnut a popular treatment for varicose veins!

4. Finally....Exercise!! One of the easiest and surest way to ensure adequate venous function is through exercise. Every time our leg muscles contract they are a internal pump for venous flow back to the heart. Since veins, unlike arteries, do not have a muscular wall they require our muscle contractions to push blood flow all the way from the toes against gravity back up to the heart....pretty impressive! And kinda makes sense why varicose veins and venous insufficiency is so common. So get moving and keep those muscles contracting!!
